Dual-Use Goods · HS Screening Index

A simple early-warning index. Flags potential technical dual-use categories, not legal bans.

Search by HS code or goods description

Exact eight-digit HS codes return their classification even when no technical category matches. Results use the existing Bangladesh tariff database, not paid AI.

How the dual-use check works in Bangladesh

First identify the correct eight-digit HS code. Then check specifications, exact chemical identity/CAS, intended use and any applicable Bangladesh licensing or prohibition provisions. Scheduled chemicals may require BNACWC enrollment or controls under the Chemical Weapons (Prohibition) Act, 2006; ordinary goods in a broad chemical heading are not automatically scheduled chemicals.

NBR — Chemical Weapons Convention controls · Bangladesh Atomic Energy Regulatory Act, 2012, sections 24–26 · Ministry of Commerce — import policy

US ECCN and EU Annex I technical categories belong to their respective export-control frameworks. HS codes do not determine those classifications. A foreign supplier's export authorization is not, by itself, a Bangladesh import permit. For Bangladesh import permissibility, also check the IPO and any applicable sector law in the main HS advisory.
